I'm an English language teacher at one of the secondary girls' schools in Bahrain. I teach students of 15-18 years of age. They study five courses of English as a Foreign language in their three year of Secondary Education; divided into five semesters. The school has recently implemented e-learning where a computer lab was set up with networked computers and a smartboard. Therefore, my one and only interest in to develop myself in the field of ICT in learning and teaching and to participate in the development of my students' levels using any available tool that would motivate them to learn and to achieve higher standards. I love surfing the Net and updating myself so as not to feel behind and to bridge the gap between this and the coming generation and myself.

Personal Life

I'm married and have got four wonderful kids, two boys, Abdulla and Salman and two girls, Fatima and Mariam. I live with my family in nice house in one of the cities neighbouring the capital called Sihla. I have a very close relationship with my family. During school days, we only go to Dad's house in the week-end, but in the holidays, you'd find us there day and night, poor unfortunate dad : )
I have four sisters and one brother; thanks to mum, we were brought up to be very loving and always in touch. My dad is an Assistant Professor at Bahrain University. He also did his MA and Ph.D at Warwick, which is why I chose that uni. He's the best person in my whole life and I look up to him in every thing I do.
My husband is also a university graduate. He works at the Ministry of Electricity and Water and is a very loving and caring man. Poor thing, I left him with the four kids for a whole year where he had to do all the mothering for me ; ) I owe him and my family my success.

The first is a picture of the kids at a festival wearing Bahraini traditional costumes. The second picture is of my niece (Nora)... gorgeous, isn't she :)

I'm Sameera from a tiny weeny island in the middle of the Arabian Gulf called Bahrain. I was born in the capital city Manama where I spent my very naughty childhood. I did my schooling in government schools till I graduated. I then joined Bahrain University where I studied English Literature and Education and later on did my MA in English Language Teaching and Multimedia at Warwick University, England.
